In order to celebrate World Animal Day this year and to show our love for our four-legged friends, we decided that – for the month of October – we will actively contribute to the Hellenic Animal Welfare Organization’s work! The Hellenic Animal Welfare Organization was founded in 1975 and widly recognized for its work to protect stray animals!

  • It is a non-profit organization, it is not subsidized by the Greek state or the EU, and relies on members' subscriptions, donations, sponsorships and events to fulfill its goals.
  • Their main activities include: finding shelter for stray animals, pairing them with their forever home, taking care of their health during the transition & helping with population control.
  • They also run a special department for lost or found pets in order to reunite them with their owners or to find them a new home.
  • It is an internationally recognized organization, a member of the world organization (WSPA), an honorary member of the RSPCA.
  • The organization also runs an Animal Friendly Veterinary Center on Attiki Odos (Airport-Spaton area) and a veterinary station in Western Attiki (Acharnon terminus).
